Ideal Images for Memorable Marketing

Marketing is all about communicating the value of your service or product to the customer. Unfortunately, many businesses don’t understand the importance of unique photography and how the right styling and consistent imagery can help to not only convey quality, but also successfully tell a story and create alignment across a brand.

We are a visual culture

Images capture our imagination and help us understand context without needing to read the fine print. In this age of high mobile-device engagement, having excellent imagery in your marketing arsenal is more important than ever before. Just look at some of the recent statistics around imagery and audience engagement from MDG Advertising:

  • Articles with relevant images average 94% more total views than articles without images.
  • A press release with photos gets nearly 15% more online views than a text-only press release.
  • 60% of consumers who use online search say they prefer to contact a business whose listing includes an image.
  • Nearly 70% of e-commerce website shoppers say the product image is very important when making their purchase decision.

Photography for brand

Photography can play an integral part in your brand communications: it can be casual and friendly, conservative and corporate, or sleek and polished.

Unfortunately, when B2B companies create or refresh their brand, they often overlook the importance of photography in their marketing. This is a huge mistake. If a budget is not allocated for marketing photos and a proper plan is not put in place, your target audience may overlook your campaign and the value of your investment will have been wasted. Your overall brand equity could diminish as well. Shying away from stock

Many stakeholders, unprepared for the costs of custom marketing photos, turn to stock. In the commercial sector, when services and products are highly specialised and technical, stock photography is hardly a viable option.

While there are some good stock photo services out there, the images available are very generic and will never be able to convey your specific brand or company narrative. Organizations both large and small that avoid investing in professional marketing photos, run the risk of seeming generic and thereby overlooked by their customers. A photo shoot with a professional photography company such as Stand Out Studio will provide you with a library of images featuring your staff, locations, products and inevitably your identity.

The images on this page for example were shot for UKPS, a utilities connection company who needed to illustrate a story about their Gloucestershire based staff training facility. In such a highly specialised field the use of stock images here would have been detrimental to the skill and expertise involved. By hiring commercial photography provider Stand Out Studio the client received a collection of over 30 different images from a 25 minute photo shoot which are unique to their brand. With a relatively wide selection of images delivered the client can achieve a high mileage from use of the images for marketing across several different platforms.
