Prince Charles officially opens Wallbridge Lower Lock
Prince Charles visited Stroud today to officially open Wallbridge Lower Lock.
During his visit, HRH The Prince of Wales boarded the narrow boat Perseverance at Wallbridge Upper Lock and descended through it, before cutting a ribbon and entering the Lower Lock.
He met officials and some of the many volunteers who have worked on the project.
The event culminated in the unveiling of a plaque commemorating the completion of canal restoration between Stonehouse and Thrupp and the re-connection of the Stroud Navigation and the Thames & Severn Canal.
Stand Out Studio photographer Carl Hewlett was on hand to capture the royal visit.
